USPS Informed Visibility
How We Get Your USPS Mail Scans Delegated to Us
To track your mail through USPS Informed Visibility, your mail owner account needs to delegate scan visibility to BulkMailTracker / Millennium as your tracking provider or mailing agent.
What delegation means
USPS mail tracking uses business identifiers called a CRID and MID.
- CRID — Customer Registration ID
- MID — Mailer ID
Most mail owners already have these if they use gateway.usps.com (USPS Business Customer Gateway), PostalOne!, permits, nonprofit authorization, or a mailing vendor.
Delegation allows us to receive scan data for the mailings we are tracking. It does not give us control of your USPS account — it simply allows the scan data needed for tracking and reporting to flow to us.
What you need before we can receive scans
How USPS data delegation works (CRID first, then MID)
USPS Informed Visibility delegation is set up by locating your CRID (Customer Registration ID) for the permit or business location first. After your CRID is found in USPS systems, the mail owner selects which MID(s) (Mailer IDs) should be added to the tracking feed.
BulkMailTracker does not start delegation by searching for a MID alone — we need your CRID and the MID(s) printed on the mail you want tracked.
- Find your CRID in USPS Business Customer Gateway (account or permit profile). This identifies your business/location in USPS systems.
- List every MID (6 or 9 digits) you use on mail jobs you want tracked. View Mailer IDs at mid.usps.com after signing in.
- Use the same MID(s) encoded in your Intelligent Mail barcodes for those mailings — scan data only lines up when the delegated MID matches the MID on the mail.
- Submit the delegation request form below (or the first-campaign sign-up on the home page).
Multiple MIDs? Enter each one separated by commas or spaces. We will add every MID you list to our IV feed after your CRID is confirmed.
Not sure of your CRID or MID? Submit the form below and check I need help finding or setting these up — you can submit without CRID/MID values.
